60 days Socio economic and sustainable livelihood development programme for Rural artisans for export products in water Hyacinth, Bamboo and cane craft.
Zoon Nagar, Bhatiapar, Sivasagar which has been dedicated to the cause of Socio- cconomic Development and sustainable livelihood of rural men and women of nearest villagers by helping them to generate additional income for their families by creating handicrafts products of exquisite beauty and exporting the same for a decade and a half was selected for a 60 days programme
OUR FIRST HANDLOOM PROJECT

Since its establishment it was working with water hyacinth and bamboo cane craft, NEDF had a great turn in the year 2019-20, when they were offered their first handloom project by ONGC CSR. The project named as "INTEGRATED DESIGN AND TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT HANDLOOM PROJECT".
Our artisans, who were already excelling in the realm of natural fiber craft, experienced a transformative opportunity through this project. The delicate artistry and meticulous craftsmanship now displayed in their work highlight the success of the project in providing our artisans with an avenue to diversify their abilities and contribute to the rich tapestry of traditional crafts.

Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana
To spearhead the initiation of exploring the possibilities and potentialities of market promotion of handicrafts products across the country and abroad
To bridge the communication gap between Artisans and bulk buyer through establishing linkage commercial Transactions, franchise reselling, technologies etc.
Basic concepts and importance of quality control and treatment of raw material and finished products.
The correlation of quality control with finishing and standardization of final product.
RUDRASAGAR CLUSTER
The Rudrasagar cluster comprises of 700 plus Artisans & approximately 60 SHGs supporting the strong work force. The Cluster is famous for Cane, Bamboo, water hyacinth and handloom.
This SCHEME attempts to reflect the many possibilities in New Design and Developments of a whole range of products that can address the local needs of our rural community, It is self-sustainable as it utilizes locally available raw material which is extensively available in Sivasagar district.
It encourages local entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities. It directs the potentials of locally available skills for meeting basic community needs.
In this project, the Participants, local villagers had one to one meeting with the Designers, Consultant and Merchandisers and was further trained in the following areas:-

•Fashion/Color Forecast in Product Development.

SYNTEIN CLUSTER
ADOPTED SYNTEIN CLUSTER, Mawsynram, is one of our most accomplished project because of the language barrier, weather conditions, network and road connectivity, despite of all the obstacles we together with our team connected with the artisans of Syntein village.
In a typical cluster like Syntein, such producers often belong to a traditional community, producing the long-established products for generations. Indeed, many artisan clusters are centuries old Artisan.
We provided them the opportunity to showcase their skill in a better platform.
ONGC FOUNDATION
UJJAL ABAHAN HANDLOOM CLUSTER
ONGC Foundation, New Delhi undertakes this project in association with North East Development Forum, an esteemed NGO of Assam with 15 years of rich experience of work with these artisans in and Handicraft Sector providing skill and design development training and market linkage with high-end domestic and foreign market.
The project is a part of Celebration of 75th year of Indian Independence and glorification of Art and craft of India and its rich market potential.
Project location- Aila habi village, Sivasagar, ASSAM
Niramanam is an integrated project for technical skill and design development of Handloom weavers and Handicraft Artisans for Rudrasagar Oil Field Areas Villages.
The project is a part of Celebration of 75th year of Indian Independence and glorification of Art and craft of India and its rich market potential.
SFURTI
Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries
The Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), initiated by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Government of India in 2005, stands as a pivotal effort to foster cluster development. Under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), NEDF in the role of Implementing Agency, In a transformative move, NEDF establishes a Common Facility Centre (CFC) in the serene confines of Aila Habi Village in the Gourisagar block of Sivasagar, Assam, engaging 715 skilled artisans.
The chosen plot for the CFC, measuring 1 Bigha 1 Katha of Dag No. 1113 and Patta No. 323, was generously donated by Hari Prashanna Hazarika, an advisor of NEDF. Facilitating this collaborative venture, the Council of Handicrafts Development Corporation (COHANDS) assumes the role of the Nodal Agency, while the SF Consultant contributes as the Technical Agency alongside NEDF. This strategic alliance underscores the concerted efforts to create a sustainable ecosystem for traditional industries.
The central objective of the SFURTI-NEDF partnership transcends mere economic considerations. Instead, it aspires to empower women and uplift the socio-economic status of those at the grassroots level. By channeling efforts into income generation for the marginalized sections of society, particularly women, the initiative seeks to bring about tangible improvements in livelihoods, commitment to inclusive and sustainable development within traditional industries, addressing economic, social, and gender dimensions for a transformative impact.
